Mechanical Engineering has been one of the core branches, which was started in 2008. The Department of Mechanical Engineering has grown from strength to strength and as on date, it has matured into a pillar of strength for the Chendhuran Engineering College. The classes are being taught in such a way that students get the necessary depth in the chosen area of specialization while absorbing the necessary back up knowledge so as to maintain the required breadth in the general Technological Scenario. Special efforts have been made to enable the students to translate the theoretical knowledge with laboratory & field level experience.

          The College also offers M.E Manufacturing Engineering which has got approval in the academic year 2011-2012, with a motivation to raise qualified professionals of high academic excellence in the field of Manufacturing. This course is comprised of four semesters(2 years).

          Moreover, most of the conventional machines and laboratory equipments in the department are connected to individual computers for carrying out computational analysis of the results. Workshop forms an integral part of the department of mechanical engineering as it is heavily carrying out the manufacturing activities with the help of some sophisticated equipments for the research activities in the department as well as for the undergraduate training on workshop courses for the students throughout the institute in every semester.
